Our History


Pizza Paddock originated on a cold snowy day at the Edinburgh winter market in 2017.

The concept was simple. To create quality artisan pizzas using where possible ingredients from local suppliers and cooked in wood fired ovens.

Personally as an avid pizza lover myself I love the simplicity and versatility of pizza. There are so many combinations of toppings you can use that you are bound to find one you will like, although for me the simple the better.

After a few trials and pizza parties with our newly purchased Unni pizza oven we then purchased a double horse trailer through in Ayrshire.

With over 20 years in the food industry I know Scotland is a fantastic larder for quality food, and with East Lothian in particular on the door step it would be a shame not to use its local ingredients.

The bases are hand made using flour from Mungoswells produced just outside Haddington in East Lothian.  Alison has been great in assisting our venture.  Our bases are all double proved, which takes a bit longer but gives you a deeper flavour and better texture.

The mozzarella is produced from Yester Farm Dairies in East Lothian.  Like Mungoswells a family run business that produces excellent mozzarella from milk produced on its own farm

Ali i’ve known personally for years so there was only one place i was going to get all the fruit and vegetables from – Capital Wholesalers in Edinburgh .  Ali buys his produce daily so supplies only the freshest produce.

As well as having good raw materials for the other components of the pizza, for me the tomato sauce is the key to a good pizza.  Our sauce is cooked over several hours which i feel develops flavour

The vision is to bring artisan pizzas to weddings, parties, gala days, fetes, shooting lunches and private events.  If you have a particular preference for a topping please feel free to speak with us as we can fully customise the menu for any event.

This is a spectacular concept and the food is absolutely magnificent! You are able to choose from a wide selection of pizzas or you can create your own from scratch. The staff were very helpful in running through the process and it took a matter of minutes from initially making the order to sitting down to enjoy a great tasting pizza. Overall it was a fantastic experience for my wife and I from start to finish and I will certainly be going back. Even my 1 year old son loved them!

Living in Edinburgh gives me access to some amazing Pizza and Pizza Paddock ranks among the best. Quick, simple and packed full of flavor! Everything you want in a Pizza. The bases are thin and crispy with a great range of toppings, we had the Garlic mayo Chicken and it was delicious. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic and only too happy to help if you have trouble deciding what Pizza to choose. The trailer looked great and with the three wood fired ovens I didn’t have to wait long for my Pizza, I would totally recommend.
